MOMA digital virtual tour by mouse

Vector art for artists' sake

This piece was an assignment for my Digital Illustration Diploma. The challenge was “Vector art” using Adobe Illustrator software.

Digital perspective

I focussed on the implementation of perspective, revisiting my engineering and technical drawing background. Rather than creating from scratch I brought in some “off-the-shelf” art to hang in this gallery. There are no other visitors than you, and a family ( or tetraptych) of mice making their home in the cartoon skirting board.

Techniques

I continued the geometric shapes dictated by the gallery walls, each tinted by virtue of their position under the virtual lighting and the sunlight streaming in from lovely day outside. What a day to be indoors!

I used Adobe Illustrator vector software for its perspective tools and additional features such as gradients—used to filter out the light guiding us into the first gallery space.

Contributing artists

I curated geometric abstract inspiration from three inspirational artists; Sonia Delaunay, Piet Mondrian and Astrid Stoeppel.

Also featured is the work of a particularly creative rodent, probably called Andy.
