As a baby petrolhead and animation fan, the Hanna Barbera cartoon, Wacky Races was a favourite TV show of mine. The character I was cheering for—and drawing—was The Red Max, piloting The Crimson Haybaler.
London Art College assignment
This piece was an assignment for my Digital Illustration Diploma. The challenge was “TV character” using GNU GIMP image manipulation software.
I used the Wacom Cintiq and applied some dodge and burn effects to add a more 3D feel to the artwork which was originally produced in a traditional flat style.
